Information and Communication Technology (ICT)  has played a huge role in changing the dimensions of learning. It has adopted a learner centered approach thus making learning very effective for all learners of different abilities at any time and any place. Audio visual materials provide a rich medium for teaching and learning. The video when properly used in learning can effectively communicate complex information to a student and if used creatively,it can become a very powerful expressive tool.  ICT has made learning easy in that it can take place away from school since audio visual materials provide a rich medium for teaching and learning and the students can easily access them outside classroom. Having learnt this, i am prepared to explore and experiment in my use of ICT to enhance learning. I really look forward to the day that the Kenyan government will adopt this method of learning in it's schools as this will totally change  the way education is percieved in Kenya.

  1. The problem facing our East African countries is the inability of Political leaders to show the will of investing much in Educational sector. Integrating ICT in all subjects taught e.g in primary schools is possible but several questions need to be answered by me, you and our government leaders.
    i) How far are the teachers well educated to this technology?
ii) Do we have the prerequisites such as electricity, bandwidth and the necessary devices such as computers, modern phones and network aids?
If the answers are Yes, then to what extent? What about accessibility?

  2. cathy let us remain hopeful Africa will one day reach that level probably our great great grand children will especially when our leaders decide to take a turn of events and love their countries more than themselves. Then this world of technology will not only reach our door steps but take refuge in our homes and schools in particula

  3. Cathy, all the attributes of ICT you have expressed are real, I like the way you have discussed it in details. However, the level of access is completely relative within East Africa as Madinda tries to express. In fact there is great need for the concerned political leaders to speed up the process of "leveling" the ground or at least minimizing it so that we can confidently say we are now on ICT board.

  4. Cathy, the attributes of ICT are completely real as you have expressed. I like the way you have discussed it in details. However , the level of access in our East African countries is still meager and relative as Madinda tries to express. The region is in dire need of political will of leveling the ground or at least narrowing the gap of technological awareness and literacy among the regional members if we have to pace up at all.
